This particular film was shot in one day and on a train. The pressure to get it right was immense. This was a UK travel show show I used to film called Wish You Were Here...?
It ran for 13 years and had a peak audience of 12 million viewers. I worked on the show for two years as a lighting cameraman. We shot on Digital Betacam and generally had between 3-5 days on location per 4-6 minute finished film.
It was great fun but hard work. As you'll see there were a lot of shots to fit into the package and multiple locations. The schedules were always tight. But we had a lot of fun making these.
I worked with some great Directors, Presenters and Sound recordists on location. The production team in the office were also one of the best I ever had the privilege to work with.
